Salwa Eid is a Beirut-based experimental fine art photographer working primarily with analog film. Rejecting photography as a purely documentary medium, she uses the camera as a tool for construction, building images through multiple exposures, analog experimentation, and a collaborative presence with her subjects.
Her practice explores the fragmentation of memory and identity within personal and collective narratives shaped by Lebanon’s complex sociopolitical landscape. Emphasizing process, intuition, and materiality, Eid creates images in which time, emotion, and history coexist within a single frame.
